Florida State is diligently searching for a quarterback in the 2028 class, and they're going after some premium talent at the position. At the top of the list is four-star prospect Chandler Dyson out of Warner Robins High School in Warner Robins, Georgia.
He took a visit to FSU for a camp last June and an unofficial visit last November. However, things picked up this summer when the Seminoles extended him an offer, and he attended another camp about a week later. Now, the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is set to return on Monday for Florida State's ACC opener against the SMU Mustangs, per Matt LaSerre of Warchant.
Chandler is the No. 154 recruit in the country and the No. 10 quarterback in Rivals industry rankings. In the state of Georgia, he's the No. 21
player.
Dyson is being heavily recruited by the LSU Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Ole Miss Rebels, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. FSU is also on that list as one of the top five schools in his recruitment. With that said, the Seminoles are setting the pace for Dyson according to what he said last month.
"At the moment, it's really still Florida State right now. They consistently contact me. [Quarterbacks] coach [Austin] Tucker, he FaceTimes me a lot. They other coaches, they don't really do that as much. So I really appreciate coach Tucker," said Dyson.
He saw his stock rise after a very successful sophomore campaign in 2025. Dyson finished with 2,138 yards and 16 touchdowns while completing around 62% of his passes. He added another 536 yards on 60 carries and four touchdowns.
This is an important visit as Florida State looks to maintain the lead for Dyson.
