The game between the Florida State Seminoles and No. 19 SMU Mustangs has been delayed due to a power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
The game was supposed to start at 7:30 p.m. ET, but the stadium lost power just minutes before the game was set to start, apparently after a transformer blew. According to ESPN's Taylor McGregor, the game is set to start at 9:15 p.m. ET, but with limited technology.
While they have enough light to play and will take the field to start warming up at 9 p.m. ET, there will be no scoreboard, no iPads on the sideline, no player-to-coach communication, and no public announcements in the stadium. The clock will be kept on the field.
The teams returned to their locker rooms around 7:45 p.m. ET to wait
out the delay. Mike Norvell and Rhett Lashlee initially agreed to have a 10-minute warm-up, but extended it to 15 minutes as it took longer to get power back.
