The Kansas City Chiefs have chosen Derrick Johnson as their drum honoree for Week 2 at Arrowhead Stadium against the Indianapolis Colts.
Johnson was drafted out of the University of Texas as the 15th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro, and multi-year team captain in Kansas City. He spent 13 years in Kansas City from 2005-17, appearing in 182 games, the most by any linebacker in team history.

Johnson helped the Chiefs reach the playoffs six times during his tenure and is the latest inductee into the Chiefs Hall of Fame. In an interview with Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr., Johnson reflected in depth on his playing career and his life after football as a children's
book author. He recorded 955 solo tackles, 27.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, and 14 interceptions over his 14-year NFL career.
Pre-game entertainment will include the NFL Players Choir singing the national anthem ahead of kickoff.
