The Kansas City Chiefs will face the toughest opponent on their 2026 preseason schedule when they take on the Seattle Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium this evening.
Fresh off a victory in Super Bowl LX, the Seahawks are among the NFL's best teams and should prove to be a formidable opponent for the Chiefs to face in Kansas City's preseason finale.
This week, Chiefs Wire sat down with Kole Musgrove of Seahawks Wire to get the inside scoop on Seattle ahead of today's game.

How have the Seahawks improved since their victory in Super Bowl LX?
"I'm not sure if "improved" is the right word here… I prefer 'maintained.' Yes, Seattle lost their Super Bowl MVP (as y'all are aware!), but they managed to keep so many core, foundational pieces of their roster. Guys like Rashid
Shaheed, Derick Hall, and keeping DeMarcus Lawrence around for his final season in 2026. Yes, stars get you over the championship hump, but an incredibly deep roster of quality players is what gets you to compete for the Lombardi. Seattle also managed to flawlessly draft the immediate replacements for Kenneth Walker, Riq Woolen, and Coby Bryant… although with Bud Clark out, they have a new pressing need at safety. The Seahawks are bringing back their offensive and defensive lines intact, their top four pass catchers, and most of their coaching staff with the exception of Klint Kubiak. Seattle is as geared up as any Super Bowl champion I can think of to be able to repeat."
Which rookies should fans keep their eyes on in this matchup?
"I would say our Walker replacement, Jadarian Price, but he's been wisely held out of these preseason games. But I'll go with 'Hard Knocks' star Uso Seumalo, who is a long shot to make the roster given how deep the Seahawks are at defensive tackle. He has performed well and caused a key fourth-down stop in their preseason loss to the Titans to give their offense a shot late. I'm not sure if he will be on the final team when it's all said and done, but he's a great story and a solid d-tackle."
Who were Seattle's standouts at training camp?
"Wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. has been the star of training camp. He didn't make the cut last year, was eventually signed to the practice squad, and was with the organization during their Super Bowl LX run to earn himself a ring. Foster caught the only touchdown in the week one loss to Dallas, and he very nearly had another against Tennessee. He's also coming up big in the run game, laying out serious blocks, including one to pave the way for Jacardia Wright's 69-yard touchdown scamper. He is another 'Hard Knocks' star this summer, but with good reason. Given the tragic injury to Jake Bobo, Foster has a real shot to slide into the No. 4 role that is wide open for the taking."
2026 Seahawks season prediction: Can Seattle get back to the Super Bowl this year?
"They absolutely can get back. Like I said in the first paragraph, this team is as good as any champion I've seen in terms of repeat capability. The 2026 Seahawks were the most dominant Super Bowl champions since… the 2013 Seahawks. Will they have some slight regression? Probably, considering they just had their best season in franchise history. Those kinds of seasons typically don't get 'improved' upon the next year. But they're loaded, and their backups were bullying Tennessee's starters last week. It will be difficult, especially since they share a division with the Rams. However, they are also the most 'under the radar' champs we've ever seen! No one believed in them last year, and it seems to be the case this year as well. They can legitimately use the 'no one respects us' card, and I'm sure they'll weaponize that to maximum effect."
