The Philadelphia Eagles activated former Kansas City Chiefs running back Elijah Mitchell ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the New York Giants.
Mitchell played for the Chiefs last season after a four-year stint with the San Francisco 49ers, who selected him with the No. 194 pick in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Kansas City released Mitchell on December 20, 2025, but the former Louisiana Rajin' Cajuns standout was quickly picked up by the New England Patriots later that month.
News of Mitchell's activation was first broken by veteran reporter Aaron Wilson in a post to the insider's official Twitter account:

While it is unlikely that Mitchell will play much of a role in Philadelphia's offense
when the Eagles face the Giants on Sunday, fans should expect to see the ex-Chief take the field if injuries affect the Pennsylvania-based franchise's offensive depth late in the regular season.
