Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters after the Week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos. He credited defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's game plan for holding Denver to 10 points.
"Spags (Steve Spagnuolo) had a great game plan for this crew, and when you're playing that kind of defense, you can do things on offense and take chances," said Reid. "I thought the defensive line was tremendous in the run and the pass game. Their transition from the run-stopping to transitioning into the play-action game, I thought, was great."
The Chiefs' defense was dominant, with contributions from several young players and veterans. Reid pointed out returning veteran cornerback L'Jarius Sneed's performance in his first official game back in Kansas
City.
"Our secondary is flying around-it's great to get 38 (L'Jarius Sneed) back in the mix," said Reid. "Sneed, he might have been the happiest guy out there to have an opportunity to get back on the field and play. And he's going to be real sore tomorrow. And he sure did a nice job, as they all did."
Sneed finished the victory with 8 tackles, leading the team as the group collectively had 4 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery.
