Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor made his debut with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL regular season.
Taylor, a former second-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2019 NFL Draft, played for the Chiefs between 2023 and 2025, and signed with Atlanta as a free agent earlier this year after he was released by Kansas City on March 4.
Falcons Wire managing editor Matt Urben broke down Taylor's Week 1 performance in an interview with Chiefs Wire:
"While Taylor wasn't exactly good in Sunday's opener, the entire offensive line struggled against the Steelers," Urben explained of the former Florida Gator's performance. "Taylor was decent in pass protection, but he was below average in the running game and committed
one penalty."
Issues with penalties defined Taylor's tenure in Kansas City, and if Urben's analysis is any indication, Atlanta may soon experience some of the same undisciplined outings that caused the Chiefs to move on from the veteran blocker.
