Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Mansoor Delane spoke with reporters before practice on Monday. He reflected on his first preseason game and his injury recovery while practicing in a no-contact jersey.
"I was definitely just eager to get back healthy, but I think it was a sign. I think it was meant to be. It's always hard not to be on the field; it's what you love to do," said Delane. "I think it allowed me to step back and see from different perspectives."
Delane made his preseason debut in last Saturday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played limited action but didn't hold back his effort after a long recovery process to address his shoulder.
"My big thing is, if you're going to do something wrong, do it at full speed," said Delane. "That's
how I play the game, playing fast. My first game out there, I'm not timid, I'm not scared, I'm going to do everything 100%. So, I just want to put that on display."
Delane played 13 snaps total in the preseason Week 2 game, with 11 on defense and 2 on special teams.
