Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Kahlil Benson spoke with reporters after practice on Wednesday at Missouri Western State University. He discussed his experience at training camp and taking pride in his role as an offensive lineman.
"It's been really good, man. I think it's really helpful for all of us. Actually, everything's been going good. I mean, I see everything as beneficial, with the team, everything, when it comes to the teammates, and they're lifting us up, especially as rookies." said Benson, "You want to do the best that you can, especially just trying to keep the coaches and how they're supposed to be. Really taking those coaching points and really keep everything in, moving forward."
Benson was signed to the 90-man roster after
an impressive showing at the rookie minicamp. The undrafted free agent has received praise from coaches and teammates throughout camp but is taking a humble approach to the opportunity to play a significant role in the upcoming season.
"Honestly, I just kind of kept my head down. I knew my time was going to come and really just stay humble, and stay faithful, and kept praying to God. Just making sure I was ready to be on call when it was that time," said Benson. "Showing the humbleness, and the confidence, and the coaches being able to trust you. Being able to move forward, and when there's time to be corrected, being able to be corrected, and then being able to just go out to the next play and then do what you got to do the next play."
Benson was a member of the Indiana Hoosiers' 2025 CFP National Championship roster. He saw action in 49 games in college, splitting stints at Indiana (2022-2023, 2025) and with the Colorado Buffaloes (2024).
