Kansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub spoke with reporters on Thursday. He addressed plans to work on Harrison Butker's mechanics after recent field-goal misses.
"No, (Harrison Butker) he's a human being. Every once in a while, he's not going to hit the ball exactly the way he wants to, and he missed that extra point," said Toub, "but he came back and made another extra point, another big field goal right before the half, right after, so it wasn't affecting him there."
Butker went 3-for-4 on field goals and 1-for-2 on PATs in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
"Then the long field goal, the 53-yard, it was like about a foot outside the right post. So, we're not hitting the panic button at all," said Toub. "He had a real good
day of practice yesterday, made 10 for 10, and we tested him on some long ones and made those and made short ones and made them all. So, a lot of confidence in Butker."
Butker's second-quarter 50-yard field goal brings his career total to 36 50+ yard field goals, tying him for ninth-most in the NFL since entering the league in 2017. His 10 points in last Sunday's game bring his career total to 1,166 points.
