The 2026 NFL Draft is in the rearview for the Kansas City Chiefs, as this year's class will soon begin life in the NFL. A total of 240 high schools contributed to the selection of 257 players across the seven rounds.
"The Draft reflects the full journey of the game, from high school to college to the National Football League, and the values that define it: resilience, teamwork, character, leadership, and a commitment to academics," said Troy Vincent, Sr., NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations, in a statement. "It also speaks to the impact of high school coaches, who help shape and guide these young men at a critical stage. Each opportunity that is presented to these athletes allows them to pursue and see their dream realized."

high schools had multiple players drafted. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) led the way with 4 players selected, followed by Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), which had 3 players drafted. Eight high schools – Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.), Clearwater Academy International (Fla.), Marist (Chicago, Ill.), McClymonds (Oakland, Calif.), Pickerington Central (Ohio), St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio), Westlake (Atlanta, Ga.), and Westlake (Austin, Texas) – each had two players selected.
The Chiefs' first-round selection and sixth overall pick, Mansoor Delane, is one of two players drafted from Archbishop Spalding in Severn, Maryland. Delane was a 3-star prospect at Spalding in the Class of 2022,
"Coach Tyrone, Coach Schmitt, love those guys. Really just a college system at a young level," Delane said, according to Washington Commanders media during the NFL Scouting Combine. "So, when I came to college, it wasn't too big for me and nothing I hadn't seen before."
Delane grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and transferred to Archbishop Spalding, where he recorded 2 interceptions in 7 games and became a full-time starter during his junior and senior years.
"The DMV has a lot of hidden talent people don't know," Delane said. "Sometimes they don't get the respect California and Texas get because we're a small state, but I think there's a lot of talent."
Missouri had 9 players selected, while Kansas contributed 3 drafted players.
