The Kansas City Chiefs enter Week 8 after a disappointing Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The no-longer-undefeated squad is now 5-1 heading into Week 8.
Bleacher Report ranked the Chiefs No. 4 overall in their latest power rankings following last Sunday's nationally televised loss.
"One team entered Sunday Night Football with an undefeated record, yet its opponent provided a dominant performance. The Kansas City Chiefs had no answers for the Seattle Seahawks' outstanding defense," wrote Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski. "In fact, the Chiefs' three points tied for the lowest output during the Patrick Mahomes era. For the first time in the quarterback's career as the team's starter, Kansas City didn't enter the red zone during a contest."
The
Chiefs' defense couldn't get off the field, letting Seattle control nearly 36 minutes of possession. While the offense was held in check, running back Kenneth Walker had his worst game of the season, finishing with 36 rushing yards on 14 carries. Patrick Mahomes couldn't get into the red zone, and kicker Harrison Butker continued to struggle on field-goal attempts.
The Chiefs will try to return to their winning ways on Sunday in a pivotal AFC West battle with the Denver Broncos.
