Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Alohi Gilman recently spoke with reporters. He praised defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and the defensive coaching staff for sharing playbook details as he prepares for his role this season.
“Yeah, I’m in a good spot. I feel really good, really comfortable. They do a great job here just preparing us,” said Gilman. “Training camp was necessary for me to get those reps, to make mistakes, and to build and stack days. And my plan is to continue to do that because it’s never going to be perfect, but I feel comfortable with where I’m at. So, I’m just excited for the season.”
Gilman signed a three-year, $24.75 million deal with $15 million guaranteed. In 2025, he started all 17 games for the Los Angeles Chargers
and the Baltimore Ravens, recording 90 tackles.
“Just being really detailed about it. Intentional about what we do in practice, whether it’s walkthroughs, whether it’s practice, just being intentional about it and being physical out there,” said Gilman. “Just going out there and playing fast, and I think that helps getting everyone to the football, and I think all of that together helps out with a good defense.”
The veteran safety has recorded 320 tackles, 1 sack, 5 interceptions, and 6 fumble recoveries in his six-year career.
