Kenneth Walker is one of the hottest names in the NFL during his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 25-year-old running back was already a well-known name after his Super Bowl MVP performance in the Seattle Seahawks' win over the New England Patriots. Now, Walker leads the league in rushing with 537 yards and has made the Chiefs' offense noticeably more dynamic.
Kansas City's record stands at 4-0 as the Chiefs enjoy their Week 5 bye, and will return to action as one of three-or-fewer undefeated teams in the NFL. In a one-on-one interview with Chiefs Wire's DJ Siddiqi, Walker broke down how he will decompress during his well-earned bye week.
"I love playing games," Walker explained, referring to his recovery routine. "Any time I get the
chance to chill and play the game, I'm gonna do it. It just takes my mind off a lot of stuff, football, anything. Honestly, it just relaxes me, and it's cool to just play the game. I've been playing games since just growing up, so it's something I love to do."
Walker said he likes action-adventure video games such as God of War and Ghost of Tsushima.
"I got a lot of favorite games, but I gotta say Ghost of Tsushima is my top," said Walker. "I love the story, the graphics, and I also love God of War a lot too."
The Chiefs star said he's also a big NBA 2K guy, but mainly focuses on the MyPlayer mode rather than playing as teams.
"I also like sports games too," Walker continued. "I just got back on 2K not too long ago. I stopped playing 2K for a while. I was big into Call of Duty. I'm just a gamer in general. I play multiplayer everything. I play single-player. [I'm] just a gamer."
Kansas City will play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6 before taking on Walker's former team — the Seattle Seahawks — in Week 7 and the Denver Broncos in Week 8.
The star running back is teaming up with Orgain because he uses their organic plant-based protein powder. Walker details why he started using the product and why it stands out from other protein powder items out there.
“Before the partnership, I’ve always liked Orgain,” said Walker. “It’s been something I can rely on throughout my routine and my day-to-day diet. I always mention I don’t like to eat much. Orgain is real clean, and it helps me get through the day after workout and before workouts.
“They’re plant-based; usually, when you get plant-based — I’m not much of a fan when it’s plant-based, and it’s not the best tasting –but Orgain, to me, you can’t even tell that it’s plant-based. It’s also not too chunky when I mix it up and everything. But it’s just perfect. It’s perfect for me. It’s perfect for my routine, and I’m gonna continuously use it.”
