The Kansas City Chiefs announced thefirst version of their 2026 practice squad roster. A day after the roster-cut deadline, several players are returning to the franchise in different ways to contribute to the team.
Each NFL team is allowed 16 practice squad signings, but teams with a player who is in the International Player Pathway Program are allowed 17. The Chiefs will also be allowed up to six vested veterans on their practice squads. Vested veterans are players with four or more accrued seasons in the league.
The Chiefs signed the following players to the Practice Squad:
- Armstrong, Andrew (WR)
- Brevard, Cole (DL)
- Christiansen, Cole (LB)
- Evans, Omari (WR)
- Jones, Cam (LB)
- McCalister, Tanner (DB)
- Nygra, Pete (C)
- Ogbah, Emmanuel (DL)
- Ott, Jaydn (RB)
- Perkins-McAllister, D'Arco (DB)
- Singleton, DeShon (DB)
- Smith, Tyreke (DL)
Players can stay on NFL practice squads for an unlimited number of seasons, provided they meet specific yearly experience and game-count eligibility rules. They are not eligible
to play unless they are officially elevated to the active 53-man roster before kickoff.
