The Kansas City Chiefs ended their 2026 preseason with a 0-2-1 record after tying with the Seattle Seahawks in a primetime matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.
While the Chiefs failed to secure a victory in the preseason, their coaching staff got a great look at Kansas City rookies and backups in all three of the team's August exhibitions.
Head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach now face the daunting task of cutting the Chiefs' roster from 90 to 53 players and a 17-man practice squad.
It is unlikely that Kansas City will make any decisions so soon after the Chiefs' matchup against Seattle, but fans shouldn't be surprised if Veach releases veteran players earlier than their rookie counterparts to allow for extra negotiation time between agents
and front offices ahead of the league's roster deadline on August 30.
