This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Throne SPORT COFFEE Founder & CEO Michael Fedele.
In his interview with Easton Jr., Fedele discussed Throne SPORT COFFEE's growth and his close work with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and investor Patrick Mahomes. He reflected on Mahomes' role in the brand's campaigns and commercials.
"He's a professional on set in part because he's going to have the opportunity to take part in so many marketing campaigns over the course of his career," said Fedele. "So he's incredibly smart and very efficient. Given how smart he is, most of the time he memorizes the lines and wants to be as good as he is in front of the camera as he is in everything else that he does."'Better Fuel For Every You' leans into the many sides
of Mahomes, and all of us, because no one is just one thing.

"So it's always a pleasure to work with him on marketing campaigns, including the most recent one we did this summer, the 'Better Fuel For Every You' campaign. It," said Fedele. "So we featured Patrick not only with a football in his hand, which I think is one of the scenes, but also as a businessman, a dad flipping pancakes for his kids, and getting ready for golf, which he loves. It was a pleasure to bring that to life in a full 360 way. A good amount more of us telling that story around the brand in terms of, hey, just because you're not going to the gym right now, just because you're not going to play football. I didn't play football today, but I had to throw in sport coffee."
The campaign blends wit, fun, and action to show the different sides of Patrick the day calls for: elite athlete, businessman, dad (see his "#1 Best Dad" apron), and golfer, positioning Throne SPORT COFFEE as better fuel for every you.
"The reality is, we want to capture folks off the field, off the court, for that energy occasion and on-the-go activity occasion, and no one's ever really owned that before. That's what I think is special about the idea and the opportunity," said Fedele. "I think so many people are excited about it and gravitating toward the brand and the product because of the proposition." It's like no one has ever owned coffee for performance. Nobody has ever owned coffee for activity. No one has ever owned on-the-go coffee. We're here really to try to flip the ready-to-drink coffee category on its head and have some fun while doing it."
