This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with LSU Tigers college football head coach Lane Kiffin.
In his interview with Easton Jr., Kiffin, who stars in the new Dr Pepper Fansville commercial trailer
for Season 9, discussed his role in the video, which plays off his offseason decision to leave Ole Miss for LSU. He reflected on an in-game conversation with Kansas City Chiefs rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane while he was in college."We need to win games, and that starts Saturday, and worry about other stuff because you don't win enough games, you won't be on any commercials," said Kiffin regarding more potential acting roles after Dr Pepper Fansville. "So let's go win some games here, starting with Week 1 Saturday."
While at Ole Miss, Kiffin
matched up against LSU standout Mansoor Delane, and during a conversation, he offered high praise for the future Chiefs first-round pick.
"Well, we joke because I told him (Delane) in the first series of the game when we played him last year, and I said, 'Hey, so that you know, like there's no use in even like running fast because we're not going to throw at you. Run through on the other side the whole day. He thought I was kidding, and he went over and told defensive coordinator Blake Baker," said Kiffin. "He did not know that I meant it, and we didn't throw at him the whole day, and so it was kind of funny. So his brother (Faheem Delane) is here doing really well, a really good young player, and again, it just speaks of LSU; you know that players like that would want to come here."
