This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Cooper McDonald.
In his interview with Easton Jr., McDonald discussed his partnership with premium outdoor brand SITKA Gear and how he's developing his new role this season.
"We can use SITKA to put some pretty cool pregame outfits together, show what I like to do off the field as well, and incorporate it into my everyday job and what I like to do." said McDonald "So it's definitely amazing, and just keep going back into your your history, or should I say, coming up hunting and and doing a lot of outdoor activity. Well, you said that was just like a family thing, where you guys have just kind of always done it your entire life."
Most of McDonald's playing time came
on special teams, and he finished the season with 25 total tackles. He played in all 17 games last season and started the regular-season finale.
"I accepted my role as a special teams player last year, and I took full advantage of that. I really enjoyed everything that I did, and just being a special teams player, you took on that role of playing on all four phases, not going in on defense, but also when the defense is out there, learning from all the guys that were out there before you." said McDonald "So this offseason, I really was doing a lot of film study on different guys. I was training my body and getting my mind right. This training camp was different from last year's because I now have the opportunity to start with this team, which is a big blessing. So we're just going to keep going at it and see what happens."
