Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Eric Murray suffered a season-ending elbow injury during the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Murray began his career in professional football as a fourth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft and played in Kansas City for three seasons, between 2016 and 2018.
Since moving on from the Chiefs, Murray took the field in stints with the Cleveland Browns (2019) and Houston Texans (2020-2024) before signing with the Jaguars last season.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Murray will miss the remainder of Jacksonville's 2026 campaign in a post to his official Twitter account on November 2:
Coach Liam Coen confirmed that DaVon Hamilton had a season-ending injury, as does
safety Eric Murray. https://t.co/eiHddB3FHT

Now 32 years old, Murray is a seasoned veteran who should have no problem returning to action next season, whether with the Jaguars or another franchise in the NFL.
Expect Jacksonville to find Murray's replacement in short order as the Jaguars look ahead to a Week 9 tilt with the Baltimore Ravens on 'Thursday Night Football.'
