Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humohrey recently spoke with reporters. He commented on the Chiefs' hunger for a Week 1 victory after last season's disappointment.
"Every time we go out there, we're hungry for a win. And so, yeah, we want to go out there, get this season started on the right note. So, the energy has been great this week," said Humphrey. "Practice has been great this week. So, we're fired up to get out there Monday."
Another player hungry for opportunity is undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson, who is set to start at left tackle in Week 1. Humphrey shared his thoughts on his rookie teammate going into the matchup with the Denver Broncos.
"Yeah, I've been in his shoes like that," said Humphrey. "So, whenever he's called upon, you know,
we're just there helping him out, letting him know different things. I'm just helping him with the confidence, so he's excited. He's ready to roll."
Benson will be making his NFL debut on Monday Night Football against some of the best pass-rushers in the league. Protecting Patrick Mahomes will draw plenty of attention.
