Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters on Monday about the defense's lack of sacks in the first four games of the season.
"Yeah, we've done a good job getting the quarterback busy back there, though, with pressure, which is important," said Reid. "So, hands down, we want to have sacks. But I mean that the pressure on the quarterback ends up being an important thing, and I think our guys have been generating that."
The Chiefs have 4 total team sacks through 4 games. Nick Bolton, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Nohl Williams, and R Mason Thomas lead the team with one sack each. The team has done well with team pressure but continues to struggle with a three-game sackless streak.
In Week 4, the Chiefs pressured Las Vegas Raiders quarterback
Kirk Cousins on 40.4% of his dropbacks. George Karlaftis led the way, recording a team-leading 11 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus, and, before Week 5, was the most in a single game this season.
