According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to release rookie linebacker Wesley Bissainthe after the 2026 preseason.
Bissainthe joined Kansas City as an undrafted free agent earlier this year but failed to separate himself from his competition at Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph.
A former Miami Hurricane, Bissainthe earned third-team All-ACC honors after his outstanding 2025 campaign in the Magic City, and Schefter's report on his release indicated that the 22-year-old linebacker intends to return to college.

It remains unclear if Bissainthe will take the field in NCAA competition this year, but the valuable experience he gained in Kansas City should serve him well as he looks to continue his career in professional football.
