The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed rookie running back Jaydn Ott to their active roster on October 24.
A former Oklahoma Sooner, Ott began his career with the Chiefs as a free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft.
After failing to earn a spot on Kansas City's 53-man roster during training camp, Ott signed a practice squad contract with the Chiefs in August.
Kansas City's surprise signing of Ott was announced at the same time as the Chiefs' decision to place second-year running back Brashard Smith on their injured reserve list ahead of a Week 7 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on 'Sunday Night Football':

While Ott is unlikely to be a featured contributor to Kansas City's ground game in primetime, his signing with the Chiefs is a clear indication that head coach Andy Reid likes what he has seen from the Chino, California, native early in his NFL career.
