Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Chamarri Conner spoke with the media on Monday at training camp. He discussed the opportunity for a breakout season following offseason departures in the secondary.
"Oh, I'm very comfortable playing safety. "It's exciting to be in one spot," said Conner. "I'm always ready to do whatever the team needs, but I'm excited for this year." I'm excited for this season."
The former 2023 4th-round NFL Draft pick is prepared to take on more responsibilities with the additional openings in the secondary from last year.
"Yeah, definitely changed my mentality. We've got a lot of younger guys that came in, we've got a lot of older veteran guys that's still learning. So, I'm kind of in that middle piece to help guys out, kind of bridge
that gap," said Conner, "Like I said, I think we're a group full of guys that's eager to learn, eager to get better every day and a group of hungry guys, so I'm excited."
In 2025, Conner played in and started all 17 games, finishing with 117 total tackles, 75 solo tackles, 2 sacks, and an interception. He also forced 2 fumbles.
