Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey spoke with reporters Friday about the errant late-game snap in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders and his communication with Patrick Mahomes under center or in shotgun.
"Usually, Pat (Patrick Mahomes) will let us know if it's under center or shotgun," said Humphrey. "So, yeah, we try to clarify it every time."
Humphrey has had some errant snaps this season, including a notable mishap late in the fourth quarter of Week 4. Mahomes tried to regroup and nearly turned the ball over.
"It's just focusing on it, focusing in those situations. You know, late game, last game, things like that," said Humphrey. "So something that needs to stop now. So yeah, just remaining focused throughout the entire game. So just making
sure that snap first every time."
Humphrey has an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 73.2 through the first 4 games this season. A multiple-time All-Pro since joining the league, Humphrey still has parts of his game he's working to improve as he gains more experience.
