Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Jaden Hicks spoke with reporters after practice on Thursday at Missouri Western State University. He opened up about his mindset going into his third NFL season and shared an honest review of his play last year.
"Definitely improving every day, each and every day." said Hicks, "Getting the guys on the same page and just building that bond where no matter what goes (on) throughout the season that we're together and we're in it for one goal."
The Chiefs made numerous changes to the secondary with the departure of key players during the offseason. Hicks will be expected to play an essential role as a potential full-time starter in 2026, having started a few games last year.
"There were definitely things to improve
on, but I feel like it was a stepping stone, a learning stone for me," said Hicks. "Definitely in a new role, but definitely things to build on."
Hicks played in all 17 games last season, starting in three, and finished with 42 total tackles and .5 sacks. He notably led the Chiefs with 3 interceptions as a rookie in the 2024 season.
