On the 'Chiefs Wire Podcast Interview Series', we showcase new players, celebrities, and prominent NFL players with unique takes and stories about the Kansas City Chiefs.
Watch as Senior Writer Ed Easton Jr. speaks with TV Analyst and former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green. He opens up about Patrick Mahomes' injury recovery, the Las Vegas Raiders
' plans for Fernando Mendoza, and his Chiefs franchise record.
"I do understand when quarterbacks have to play early because coaches and GMs in the NFL used to be like, if a coach or GM got there, oh, you've got at least three or four years before you even have to consider it. If it doesn't go well, maybe you'll get fired in three. Now you could get fired in one year, two years, three. It doesn't really
matter. I mean, it's a win-now business," said Green. "So I understand coaches feeling the pressure to play guys early. With the Raiders bringing in Kirk Cousins, a veteran who Fernando can learn from, this is a good situation for him. I think there's not going to be a lot of pressure. How much the Raiders are going to win, I don't know."
