According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Chiefs rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane should miss minimal time with his shoulder injury. Delane suffered the injury early in the first quarter in the Week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos.

The former LSU standout battled a shoulder injury throughout offseason workouts and training camp. There is no immediate indication that the latest issue is related.

Delane was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back while in college.

Delane joined Kansas City as the No. 6 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He recorded his first career interception off quarterback Bo Nix in front of the Monday Night Football audience on the opening drive, giving the Chiefs an early lead over Denver. Veteran L'Jarius Sneed played additional snaps and was efficient in relief of Delane.
