The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos will face off in an exciting rivalry matchup this afternoon in Week 8 of the 2026 NFL regular season.
Both teams have five wins entering the divisional contest, and the winner of today's game will take control of the top spot in the AFC West.
This week, Chiefs Wire sat down with Brandon Walker of Broncos Wire
to get the inside scoop on Denver before today's game.Take a look at Walker's answers to our top questions below:
Who has been Bo Nix's favorite target through seven games?
"According to the numbers, Jaylen Waddle has been the most targeted; however, the question of the most reliable still remains the running backs and Courtland Sutton. If Waddle can improve on not dropping the ball, he will certainly be a more featured part of the offense."
Does Denver have what it takes to sustain its early-season success?
"I think with the
early mix of defensive dominance from Week 2 on, a touch of offense will go a long way to helping Denver sustain its early-season wins. It worked early on; why wouldn't it now? They've lived on a razor's edge for most of the last two seasons, and it seems to be their identity now."
How have the Broncos improved defensively since Denver's last meeting with Kansas City?
"The biggest way they've improved has been tackling. After missing an embarrassing number of tackles in Week 1, the Broncos have been a vastly improved tackling team. They are also now able to put pressure on the quarterback, which has helped the secondary. Without All-Pro Pat Surtain in the lineup, the Broncos went 2-1, which was a very nice surprise."
Final score prediction: Who wins in Week 8 and why?
"I think this one could be a close one. Kansas City will look to come out firing, and after a bad game against Seattle, they will come out guns blazing. For Denver, they're looking to build on an offensive explosion against Arizona. I think it will be similar to last year's meeting in Denver. Final score: Broncos 22, Chiefs 19."
