Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke with reporters after the Week 3 victory over the Miami Dolphins. He revealed slight disappointment with the team's performance in Sunday's victory.
"I mean, at the end of the day, we won the football game, and we found a way to win and win by two touchdowns. Obviously, we didn't play to our standard that we would hold for ourselves, especially in that middle part offensively of the game, kind of second quarter through third quarter," said Mahomes, "But I thought we found a way to come together at the end of the game. We had two great drives at the beginning of the game, and now it's about learning the in -between. It'll be a learning experience for us to know that we have to come with our A-game
every single time to win. But at the end of the day, we're 3 -0."
During the game, Mahomes completed 20-of-24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns, with a passer rating of 119.8. He now owns 474 passes of 20+ yards since 2017, passing Matthew Stafford and only trailing Jared Goff.
"I wouldn't say I feel disappointed. I'm happy for the win. I think last year taught me that you can't be disappointed when you win football games. You have to enjoy every single one of them, enjoy the plane ride back, everything like that," said Mahomes. "But I know we can be better. I know we can get better, and that's going to take watching the tape and going out and having a better week of practice, communicating within the entire offense and the entire team. We're going to be happy. We're going to enjoy this victory, but we know to get better and better. That if we want to get to where we want to go, we have to continue. So we'll do that."
Mahomes' passer rating of 119.8 in Sunday's game brings his total games with a 100.0+ passer rating to 64, the most in franchise history and the fourth-most among quarterbacks since 2017.
