Kansas City is well poised for a solid offensive outing on Monday. With wide receivers Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy both healthy and running back Kenneth Walker III patrolling the backfield, head coach Andy Reid will have plenty of options. Mahomes will look to silence the naysayers who questioned his ability to play after his ACL injury. Walker will get a healthy workload on Monday, but is not expected to have a top-tier performance against Denver's defense, which ranked second in the league last season in rushing yards allowed.
Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's secondary has changed significantly from last year. Kansas City lost key defensive backs Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, and Bryan Cook during the offseason, but brought in several capable replacements. Rookie safety Monsoor Delane is a player to watch on Monday after impressing both fans and coaches during the preseason.
