During a recent interview with FOX4 News, Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt discussed the team’s new domed stadium in Kansas City, Kansas.
“I don’t think we’ll call it Arrowhead,” Hunt said, “but we wanted to make sure there were enough elements in the design that reminds every fan who has attended a game at Arrowhead about what a great stadium that is.”
The new domed stadium is expected to include numerous state-of-the-art features, including 70,000 seats, translucent ETFE panels, and more than 20,000 parking spaces.
“Stadium projects are very complicated, and we worked very hard on both options,” said Hunt. “And at the end of the day, we really just made a decision that was the best thing for the organization — and also the best thing for the community
was to build a new stadium.”
The stadium’s seating bowl is reminiscent of Arrowhead Stadium; it will include a Drum Deck for pregame and in-game ceremonies, as well as the prominent placement of the Chiefs Ring of Honor above the bowl.
