This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Super Bowl-winning coach and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Senior football consultant Bruce Arians.
In his interview with Easton Jr., Arians discussed his work with Novartis on its "Relax, it's a Blood Test" prostate cancer screening campaign. He opened up about Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid's creativity this season.
"Yeah, for me, it was personal. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2007. "said Arians. "Fortunately, I had already started my scorecard, so I had my PSA level checked starting at 40, which I beg guys to do, and to get your blood test every year."
The Chiefs are off to a 4-0 start this season, and the offense has found its balance. Arians praises Reid's ability to find new
ways to enhance the offense, even with classic plays from decades ago.
"Oh, Andy's (Reid) one of the most innovative guys that's ever been. He goes back to 1935 or whatever, and then puts those plays in, and they work. They always work. That's the amazing part because the guys have so much fun doing them," said Arians. "We're actually going to run this coach. Yeah, we're going to run it. Andy's fantastic, and he's back to the running game. I thought Kenneth Walker was the biggest pickup in the offseason for any team because that's exactly what the Chiefs needed."
