Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters on Wednesday. He gave an unapologetic take on rookie offensive lineman Kahlil Benson's progress through two games.
"Yeah, listen, he's done a nice job. We're early, we're early in it, and he's one of the young guys. So, but for what we're asking him to do, he's done a heck of a job," said Reid. "But every week's a new week, and the more people are able to study him, then you're gonna get different looks, and you gotta be able to answer that. That's when you're new in the league; that's what you get, and so how you handle that is important."
According to Pro Football Focus, Benson has allowed no sacks, two penalties, and only six pressures through the first two games. Week 3 will be different
this season for Benson, as the matchup against the Miami Dolphins will be a road game. The crowd could be a factor since it is the Dolphins' home opener.
The main concern going into Sunday will be the road adjustment, given the rookie offensive tackle's struggles in the Chiefs' second preseason game. Kansas City's exhibition matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month highlightedthe challenges of playing on the road in the NFL.
