Kansas City Chiefs defensive back L'Jarius Sneed spoke with reporters recently after practice. He shared his thoughts on rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane.
"Yes, (Mansoor Delane) he's definitely a dog. He's one of a kind," said Sneed. "He's a first-rounder for a reason."
While at LSU, the sixth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft earned First Team All-SEC honors and was a unanimous All-American selection. He was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back.
Sneed played briefly in the preseason finale alongside Delane but appreciated the moment to get himself some early reps before the regular season.
"Oh yeah, I just didn't want to go into the season, just throw me in there (and not) get reps," said Sneed. "I wanted to get reps before
I go into the real thing."
During his first tenure with the Chiefs, Sneed appeared in 57 regular-season games, tallying ten interceptions and 40 passes defended. In the postseason, he had one interception and seven passes defended in 13 games, primarily against the opposing team's top receiver.
