The Kansas City Chiefs are relying on a familiar face returning to the active roster ahead of Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chiefs officially activated veteran linebacker Cam Jones on Tuesday after making several roster moves, including placing wide receiver Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve.

Jones joined the Chiefs practice squad in August but has a significant history with the team. He originally signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. He made the final roster and played in all 17 games, tallying 17 total tackles and helping
secure the Super Bowl LVIII title over the San Francisco 49ers.
Jones played in all 17 games in 2024, recording 19 total tackles, but was waived after training camp for 2025. He spent time with the New York Jets last season and was briefly on the New York Giants roster before being waived in July.
The former Indiana Hoosiers standout knows the Chiefs' playbook well, making him a logical plug-and-play option in practice for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
