Rookie defensive lineman Peter Woods missed the Kansas City Chiefs' practice session on Thursday, November 5, ahead of the team's Week 9 matchup against the New York Jets.
Woods was one of Kansas City's two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft and has played a modest role on Steve Spagnuolo's front four in his first season with the Chiefs.
The former Clemson Tigers standout is said to be dealing with a "neck stinger" and also missed Kansas City's workouts on Wednesday, November 4.
Veteran reporter Pete Sweeney of the KC Star was among the first to report Woods' absence from the Chiefs' latest practice session in a post to his official Twitter account:
The Chiefs say once again that Peter Woods (stinger) will be the only player out of practice.

Given that Woods has now missed Kansas City's first two practices ahead of the Chiefs' Week 9 tilt with New York, it seems likely that Spagnuolo will have to adjust his strategy to face the Jets without the first-round pass-rusher on the field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
