The Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts are set to face off in a highly anticipated 'Sunday Night Football' showdown that should have fans on the edge of their seats in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL regular season.
Both teams will look to earn a win in front of a national audience in what promises to be one of the most exciting matchups in the AFC this weekend.

The chance for a second straight prime-time victory at Arrowhead Stadium is too important for the Chiefs to pass up as they welcome the Colts. It's an immediate rematch of last season's overtime classic, when Kansas City prevailed in a comeback win.
All eyes will likely be on reigning AFC Offensive
Player of the Week Kenneth Walker III to see if he can repeat his dominant Week 1 performance—a great opportunity for Patrick Mahomes to focus on the passing game and get his wide receivers involved. Cyrus Allen could be a sleeper threat after not seeing much action against the Denver Broncos.
The defense will look to continue their dominant play with plenty of attention on Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. Both Nick Bolton and Chris Jones emphasized keeping him bottled up during the week. Daniel Jones is still mobile after recovering from his serious injury that ended his 2025 season early.

Samuel Teets' prediction
Steve Spagnuolo threw his best fastball against the Broncos in Week 1. His defense’s resurgence, buoyed by contributions from newcomers Mansoor Delane, R Mason Thomas and Peter Woods, stunned the Broncos. Delane’s shoulder injury stings, but Kansas City’s defense seems prepared to contend with some of the most talented offenses in the NFL.
Jonathan Taylor’s presence separates Indianapolis’ roster from Denver’s. Taylor is a game-changing force, and the Colts arguably have an advantage in the run game because of some of the lighter bodies Kansas City uses along the defensive front. This game will be a good test for players like Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Thomas and Woods.
Derrick Henry ran for 144 yards and three touchdowns while averaging six yards per carry against the Colts in Week 1. Kansas City needs to get the ball to Kenneth Walker and hammer away at Indianapolis’ defensive front. Ideally, the Chiefs try to get more out of the downfield passing game with Tyquan Thornton and Xavier Worthy.

The Kansas City Chiefs made a statement last week when they handily defeated the Denver Broncos, 31-10, on 'Monday Night Football.'
The Chiefs' offense was firing on all cylinders in Week 1. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes' mobility was on full display, and running back Kenneth Walker rushed for a career-high 173 yards against one of the league's best run defenses. Walker's ability to take over a game will give Mahomes plenty of opportunities to attack through the air, especially against the Colts' defense, which ranked second-to-last in passing yards allowed last season. With no real defensive improvements for Indianapolis this offseason, Mahomes and Walker are likely to impress once again.
The big question for the Chiefs' defense is the status of rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane, who suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter of last week's win and is currently listed as questionable. After the LSU Tiger was officially ruled out on Monday, Kansas City's remaining secondary picked up the slack and kept quarterback Bo Nix in check. If Delane does suit up on Sunday, quarterback Daniel Jones will be in for a frustrating night of football.

John Dillon's prediction
This game will be an excellent opportunity for Patrick Mahomes to prove definitively that he is back to his old form. While Indianapolis has plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, Mahomes' ability to run up the score as he did against the Denver Broncos in Week 1 should make enough of a difference to lift Kansas City to victory in front of a home crowd at Arrowhead Stadium.
Expect the Colts to play a chippy game and find success in the pass rush, but for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid to adjust and lean on his ground game — led by star running back Kenneth Walker III — if Mahomes starts to face overwhelming pressure.
I'll predict that Kansas City wins this game in blowout fashion to advance the Chiefs' record to 2-0 in the regular season.
