The NFL trade deadline is approaching, and the Kansas City Chiefs are among the many teams looking to make a move to improve their roster.
According to ESPN's Ben Solak, the Chiefs could land Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. before the deadline.
"Jacksonville benched Thomas in the second half of its Week 6 game," Solak wrote. "The only value the Jaguars were getting from him was theoretical field stretching — Worthy can do much the same, and Mahomes and the Chiefs can give Thomas a chance to rediscover his 2024 form in a new zip code."
The Chiefs are trying to maintain passing-game effectiveness without Tyquan Thornton for the rest of the season and haven't had Rashee Rice available since Week 4. Adding Thomas would give the unit
another elite receiver, especially if Jacksonville is ready to move on from him this season.
Thomas has recorded 9 receptions for 105 yards and 1 touchdown across 6 games this season. He has accumulated 144 receptions, 2,094 receiving yards, and 13 receiving touchdowns over his career with the Jaguars.
