Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones spoke with reporters after the Week 2 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He defended teammate Harrison Butker against his critics.
"Listen, they talk about my kicker y'all as a whole down my kicker last year, and I just got two middle fingers to y'all," said Jones. "I love Butt (Harrison Butker), and I trust in Butt, and I think Butt is the best kicker in the league. And I'm gonna continue to support my kicker."
Butker converted four of five field goal attempts in the victory, including two in overtime.
"Listen, nobody is perfect. Even though we want Butt to make them all, sometimes you're not, and it's just the cycle of life, and that's where adversity comes in," said Jones. "That's why
I support Butt: he stands tall every time, faces it like a man, and (I) give two middle fingers to anybody who doubts my kicker."
Butker faced criticism last season for early inconsistency but remains one of the most clutch kickers in NFL history.
