The Kansas City Chiefs are heading into their Week 7 Sunday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the media during his press conference on Friday. He said Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Brashard Smith (hamstring) won’t play Sunday night; Jaylon Moore (concussion protocol) will likely be listed as ‘Out’ as well.
Rice has remained sidelined since he injured his hamstring during the Chiefs’ Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Smith hurt his hamstring in practice on Thursday, keeping him out of this Sunday’s contest. Moore suffered the concussion early in Kansas City’s Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Reid said practice squad running back Jadyn Ott will likely be elevated to replace Smith
on the active roster. Ott signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and was waived in final roster cuts; he re-signed to the practice squad shortly before the season.
The Chiefs acquired veteran offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu in a trade with the New York Giants on Tuesday, August 25, ahead of the season to add much-needed depth. He replaced Moore to finish the Chiefs’ Week 6 victory and is lined up to start on Sunday in Seattle.
