Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke with reporters on Wednesday. He commented on his mentality when playing in hostile road environments and its potential impact on Sunday in Las Vegas.
"I just I love playing football. It doesn't matter to me. I mean, I love the Chiefs fans traveling. It's always cool to see the red in the stadium and hear the home of the Chiefs, the national anthem, and everything like that," said Mahomes. "But at the end of the day, man, it's about playing football and playing the game that you love. And so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a very hostile environment."
After the road victory against the Miami Dolphins, Mahomes earned his 115th career win (regular season and postseason), tying Tom Brady for the most
wins by a quarterback in their first 150 starts. In his 129th regular season start, Mahomes also recorded his 98th career win. He hopes to add to that number this Sunday in Las Vegas, where the team will be seeking to remain undefeated.
"Trying to take it back to those Oakland Raiders days, and so I'm excited just for the challenge. I mean, they're playing great football," said Mahomes. "You can see it on tape." That 3-0 record's real. They've been playing great the entire season, and so for us, it's another step, another challenge that we have to go up there and match."
In Week 3, Mahomes completed 20-of-24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns, with a passer rating of 119.8. With three passes of 20+ yards.
