This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Atlanta Falcons All-Pro running back Bijan Robinson.
In his interview with Easton Jr., Robinson discussed "My Greatest 7," a new campaign inspired by the stories behind football's most iconic number. In the new TV spots, Bijan reflects on the moments that shaped his career alongside friends and family before revealing it's actually about the $7 Big Deal Meal from SONIC. He discussed the responsibilities of being named a team captain for the first time in his career this season.
"Coming to the NFL and wearing a number that means something in the city of Atlanta, obviously with Michael Vick rocking the number (7) first, and trying to make that number last and ride it out the right way has been really
cool, and even just having him say, like, 'Yo, you can wear the number, and wear it with pride, wear it the right way," said Robinson. "Going on four years, it's definitely been a blessing to rock that number in the city. It definitely does mean a lot to me, and it's the number of completion in the Bible, and my faith is very high, so it all just makes sense for me."
Before the season, the Kansas City Chiefs announced their 2026 captains: Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce on offense, Nick Bolton and Chris Jones on defense, and Harrison Butker and James Winchester on special teams. For the first time in his NFL career, Robinson is a team captain, and he takes the role with the same pride as his jersey number.
"Man, that means more than you know, because I'm trying to lead the guys, not just on the field, but in life; lead them in the right direction toward their faith, toward their families, and, obviously, on the football field, lead by example," said Robinson, "So for them to name me the captain of the team that's the honor that is bigger than the All-Pro, any of those individual awards, that surpasses every single one of them, big time, because I really do want to make sure, this team is as successful as possible and that we're as close-knit as possible. That's one of the things I take pride in: trying to better my teammates so we can have our best time on the field when we play those games. So that's definitely a huge honor, man."
