Kansas City Chiefs rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane spoke with reporters earlier in the week before practice. He discussed his physical mentality on defense and ongoing mentorship from veteran teammate L'Jarius Sneed.
"Yeah, just having that physical mentality, kind of just trying to do what Coach (Steve) Spags (Spagnuolo) harps on," said Delane, "just being physical and have it set in that tone. So that was kind of my mentality with that."
Delane recorded ten tackles during the Chiefs' Week 3 victory over the Miami Dolphins. One of the most significant moments last Sunday came from his teammate Sneed.
"Yeah, I think just the way (L'Jarius Sneed) he's a vet, his preparation, just his mentality. I think it's another thing Coach (Steve) Spags
(Spagnuolo) loves about him," said Delane. "The thing I love about him is just the way he plays the game, forcing that fumble. It may not always be the cleanest way, but he's going to find a way to get it done, and I just love that about that guy."
Sneed recorded three tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in the Week 3 victory. He is the first Chiefs player to force and recover a fumble in the same game sincehe did it in 2022.
