The NFL season is quickly approaching, and general managers are still working to improve their rosters. Adjustments continue after the Kansas City Chiefs revealed their initial 53-man active roster on Sunday.
Chiefs general manager Brett Veach and the front office have already made moves after the roster-cut deadline through the waiver wire. Kansas City claimed the following players:
- Eason, Bryson (DL)
- Pyburn, Jack (DL)
The waiver order reflects last April's NFL draft order before trades, so the team with the worst record from the prior year picks first. The San Francisco 49ers recently waived defensive lineman Bryson Eason as an undrafted free agent, and Jack Pyburn spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chiefs waived the following players:
- Harris, Marcus (DL)
- Knowles, Kevin (DB)
If no team claims a player within
the designated 24-hour window, the player clears waivers, becomes a free agent, and can re-sign with the Chiefs or join the practice squad. Kansas City could retain Kevin Knowles and Marcus Harris on their practice squad unless they sign before passing through waivers.
