Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters after the Week 2 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He praised the team's resilience in pulling out the win in a close game.
"I'm sure there're going to be other ones (games) down the road here that we're going to have a fight like that," said Reid. "So I can't point at one thing. Other than that, the guys did a nice job of pushing through and not getting down. I mean, the things that were obvious in today's game-that became, to me, an obvious look where we could have really sunk and felt sorry for ourselves on that last catch, but they didn't do that."
The crucial moment came in overtime when Colts wide receiver Laquon Treadwell made a long catch but had the ball punched
out; it was ruled a fumble, but replay overturned the call. Indianapolis retained possession but settled for a tying field goal after stops from the Chiefs' defense.
Patrick Mahomes had enough time to regroup and lead a game-winning Harrison Butker field goal drive. The Chiefs struggled in close games last season, making their Week 2 victory an ideal start to the new campaign.
