The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the New York Jets 35-12 in Week 9 of the 2026 NFL regular season.
Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes took a beating in the game, but ended with an impressive stat line. The two-time MVP completed 23 of his 31 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns without being intercepted, and spent much of the game evading opposing defensive linemen.
Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III was the Chiefs' leading rusher with 102 yards on 18 carries, one of which scored a touchdown in the second half. While legendary tight end Travis Kelce was Kansas City's leading receiver with four catches for 72 yards, Walker managed to haul in two receiving touchdowns to keep the Chiefs ahead of New York.

A masterclass by Steve Spagnuolo's defense saw Kansas City keep the Jets out of the end zone in all four quarters and record five total sacks in an absolutely dominant outing.
Star sack-master Chris Jones tallied two sacks and four total tackles in a rebound performance.
With its win over New York secured, Kansas City will turn its attention to a Week 10 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
