Former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal is expected to make a full recovery after sustaining a scary neck injury during the Washington Commanders' Week 3 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Chenal began his career in professional football as a third-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft and signed with the Commanders as a free agent earlier this year.
The former Wisconsin Badgers standout was a member of Kansas City's Super Bowl LVII and LVIII rosters and played a key role in Steve Spagnuolo's defense between 2022 and 2025.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared the latest update on Chenal's status in a post to his official Twitter account on September 28:

According to Schultz, Chenal has feeling in all of his extremities, which bodes well for his recovery timeline.
With Chenal sidelined for the foreseeable future, Washington will rely on rookie linebacker Sonny Styles to fill the former Chiefs star's place in Daronte Jones' Commanders defense.
