As training camp gets fully underway this week, several players have revealed their offseason activities. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tre Watson, during a recent appearance on NFL Network's 'Good Morning Football,' discussed his time at Tight End University and relationship with Travis Kelce.
"Yeah, when you think about tight end, you you think about all the different tight ends that are around, all the different the years of experience, and just having opportunity to be around them and learn different things and kind of hear other perspectives outside of Trav(Travis Kelce)." said Watson, "Because obviously, I'm with Trav every day, it was a great opportunity for me, and I think I took advantage of that."
Watson signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted
free agent in 2025 and has built a bond with Kelce while on the practice squad.
"I'd have to say that Trav (Travis Kelce), he really, he had open arms. He's kind of become like a big brother to me," Watson said. (He) looks out for me, and I greatly appreciate that because he has every right to, you know, just kind of do his own thing and just kind of be in his own space. But he takes the time day in and day out to make sure I'm doing good and making sure I'm still on my toes, and he's always looking out. He's a good guy."
Watson recorded 77 receptions for 872 yards and 5 touchdowns in 46 games over his four-year collegiate career. The former Fresno State Bulldog and Texas A&M Aggie is part of the 90-man roster heading into training camp.
